1 John 1:7a “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another (God and you).” (NIV)
This verse gives you insight into God’s love for you. Even though God greatly desires devotion and intimate fellowship, He will not impose it upon you. Your relationship and intimacy with Christ is up to you. The only thing that stands between you and the Creator of the universe, the Lord of Lords, the most Wonderful, Almighty God, your Counselor is your willingness to walk in the light. God wants you to live a holy and righteous life that derives continual power, direction, and life from Him. God, who is Holy, wants you to be holy, so that He can have an abundant, unimpeded communion with you. 1 John 3:1 describes your relationship with God as follows, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us (YOU), that we (YOU) should be called children of God! And that is what we (YOU) are!” God’s desire is not for sporadic obedience, infrequent fellowship, and relationship only when you need something. God longs for your love and genuine, unbroken fellowship with Him. John 15:9 further describes this love relationship, "As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love.” God wants more than anything to pour His life into you so that He can enjoy your devotion and affection. Jesus not only delights in your salvation but also longs for your devotion and fellowship. Begin each day by committing to walk with the Lord and entrusting every part of your life to Him, so that you walk in sweet fellowship with Him throughout the day!
Psalm 36:7-9 “How priceless is Your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They feast on the abundance of Your house; You give them drink from Your river of delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” (NIV)
