"Let Jesus Out "

Date published: 07/01/2013
Philippians 2:1-2 “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.” (NIV)
If you read these verses in the context of Jesus’ life, it should bring tears to your eyes.  Paul wrote this passage, but I want you to visualize Jesus standing before you saying the words written by Paul.  This is the Jesus Who humbled Himself from the throne of God for your salvation.  The Jesus Who endured every earthly trial and human discomfort, Who was flogged multiple times, spit on, and finally crucified to His death.  Now Jesus stands before you saying, if I have touched you in any way, even in the smallest way, then show it to another.  Do not just let the Life of Christ affect you, but let the Life of Jesus in you affect others.  See fellow believers not as separate from Christ, but united with you in Christ with both you and them having one purpose in Christ.  Do you want to bring a smile to the face of God?  Treat others as God in Christ treated you.
1 John 4:7-12 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His One and Only Son into the world that we might live through Him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” (NIV)
