GROWING IN CHRIST

"Experiencing God"

Date published: 08/27/2012

Ephesians 2:6-7 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”  (NIV)

Each day you have the opportunity for Christ to show the “incomparable riches of His grace” in your life.  As a Christian you are “raised up with Christ and seated with Him in the Heavenly realms.”  Jesus did not just die so that you could have eternal life, but that you might experience the “incomparable riches of His grace.”  Take a minute and meditate on what it means to be seated with Christ in the heavenly realm and God’s desire for you to experience the “incomparable riches of His grace.”  There is nothing more breathtaking than experiencing the completeness and fullness of Christ’s love and grace.  Jesus wants you to experience His love and grace right now.  The power and fullness of Christ’s love and grace is waiting to express itself in your life, if only you will make yourself available to Him. Imagine being given a 55-gallon bag and being told that the candy store is yours for the taking.  The candy store has over 200 types of candy.  All you have to do is turn the knob to each candy to allow it to flow into your bag.  Your life in Christ is similar.  Imagine each area of your life is represented by a jar in the candy store.  As you turn over each area to Christ, God pours more of His life into each jar (you).  Your relationship with Christ is rich and full, encompassing every aspect of your life, but will you give each area of your life to Him?  As you spend time with God every day, allow Him to show you new areas of your life that you can submit to Him so that He can fill your life with the richness of His love and grace.  The process of time spent, God released in you, and further submitting to Him will allow you to continue to experience the “incomparable riches of His grace!”

Colossians1:9-12 “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.  And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”  (NIV)
