GROWING IN CHRIST

"Wait or Play?"

Date published: 10/02/2010
Luke 17:20-21 “Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, ‘The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, “Here it is,” or “There it is,” because the kingdom of God is within you.’"
(NIV)

Jesus died not just for eternal life for you, but also for life now.  John 10:10 says, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.”  The kingdom of God resides within each believer in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.  Experiencing the fullness and abundance of Christ is not dependent upon His return or any amount of ceremony, but upon allowing the Holy Spirit’s full presence and control in you.  Do not casually live your life in Christ with the expectation of experiencing Him upon His return; live fully for Him now, knowing that the kingdom of God is within you Allow the Holy Spirit to live His life fully in you so that God’s kingdom is lived through you and proclaimed to others through His witness in you.  1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 says, “For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when He comes?  Is it not you?  Indeed, you are our glory and joy.”  Be God’s kingdom here on earth so that you are truly His glory and joy!

Matthew 13:23 “And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the Word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty."  (NASB)

Matthew 13:31-32 “He told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.  Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.’"  (NIV)
