"True Satisfaction"

Date published: 06/26/2010

2 Corinthians 6:10 “…poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.” (NIV)

The richness of your life is not dependent upon your material possessions, but on the depth of our relationship with Christ.  This relationship with Christ is contrary to our materialistic society that is so “me” centered.  How many people do you know or observe in society that have much yet are so empty inside?  Yet Paul says that out of his poverty, he is able to make many rich.  The things of this world adorn the outside, but it is the heart that produces happiness.  Unless your heart belongs to Christ, you can never be complete as a person.  Unless you allow Christ to own your heart, you can never experience the richness of communion with God.  The things of this world quickly rob God of His ownership of you.  Until your satisfaction in this world comes from God, you will not have true contentment.  That is why Paul said he could be poor yet possess everything.  It is not “things” that create contentment but knowing Christ and living your life through Him!

Psalm 73:25-26 “Whom have I in heaven but You?  And earth has nothing I desire besides You.  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”  (NIV
