GROWING IN CHRIST

"Living Boldly"

Date published: 06/19/2010

Luke 11:8-10 “I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.  ‘So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.’” (NIV)

This parable highlights a character trait that is often missing with Christians – Boldness.  We find it easier to maintain a beggarly relationship with Christ instead of acting as His ambassadors - 2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ's ambassadors. . .” You are a child of the living God! You represent the Lord of Lord, King of Kings, the Creator of the universe, so boldly represent Him.  Jeremiah 32:17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”  Do not be afraid to ask, but walk in God’s will representing Him. God has entrusted you with a ministry and purpose.  Diligently seek to know God’s will and then vigorously pursue it to bring His purpose to completion.  What God calls you to may not be easy, it may be intimidating, and it could even be dangerous, but you are God’s ambassador and He has a purpose to accomplish through you.  Be boldand step out in faith trusting God.  See His hand in you and the great work He desires to do through you.

John 14:12-14 “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.”  (NIV)
