"Reflect Christ"

Date published: 05/15/2010
Titus 2:7-8 “In everything set them an example by doing what is good.  In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.” (NIV)
Can you imagine others having nothing bad to say about you? Can you imagine living a blameless life that points to Christ and illuminates God’s love for the world? This Scripture gives you a set of instructions to always follow in order for this to happen. You are instructed to do good, show integrity, and speak with seriousness and soundness of speech. This type of life can only happen in Christ. Unless you fully engage God in every aspect of your life, you will not reflect Christ, but yourself. A life that flows from Christ is one that reflects the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”), but a life that is lived out of your own power reflects a life lived in the flesh (Galatians 5:16 “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature.”). Each day live and walk in the Spirit so that Christ’s love, grace, and peace penetrate your life so that you might reflect more of Him and less of you!

Galatians 5:24-25 “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (NIV)
