Luke 19:26 "He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.” (NIV)
Something does not seem right about this verse. Where does the abundant prosperity come in? In this verse, Jesus is taking His followers to a whole new level. They have just been informed that knowing Him has responsibility. God has given each certain talents for His use in the Kingdom. The mere maintenance of those talents is not in God’s plan. Jesus wants those who know Him to take what He has given them and leverage them for the greater good of the Kingdom of God. Jesus is not even saying that doing more is satisfactory, but that each person has a level of talents that can be used in increasing measure in God’s Kingdom. Those with greater talents will be called upon to produce that much more for God’s Kingdom. We all have our place and purpose. Where is God pushing you to be of use to Him? Seek God’s direction in how He would use you. Step out in faith for God to use you. Be faithful in His calling in your life.
Isaiah 64:8 “Yet, O LORD, You are our Father. We are the clay, You are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” (NIV)
