GROWING IN CHRIST

"Godly Access"

Date published: 04/13/2015

Psalm 41:12 “In my integrity You uphold me and set me in Your presence forever.” (NIV)

Have you ever wanted to have access to a famous person? Perhaps a movie star, the president, a professional athlete, a famous writer, or the head of a prestigious company? You will probably not have the opportunity to meet someone you admire unless you have special access. This Scripture gives you the key to meeting the most influential person you can ever know – God Himself! You may not have access to meet one famous entertainment person among a thousand; not one famous athlete among 2,500; not one well known politician among 5,000; or not one powerful and influential business executive among 10,000. But you do have the opportunity to have access to the One out of One who created you as well as every other living being, along with every intricate process on this earth and in creation. How can this happen?  Through your integrity.

Are you the Christian who was just knocked off your feet with the opportunity to connect with God or the Christian who yawned and said, “Give me something meatier?” You cannot get any better than the best!  Psalm 11:7 helps bring color to your access to God, “For the LORD is righteous, He loves justice; upright men will see His face.” (NIV) Psalm 17:15 elaborates further, “And I — in righteousness I will see Your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing Your likeness.” (NIV) Be in God’s presence, see His face, see His likeness. Now that is not just access, but exhilaration, while finding satisfaction!

You experience this through integrity, righteousness, and allowing the very presence of God to captivate your thoughts, aspirations, feelings, emotions, and desires. You allow “Christ in you” to encompass and consume everything while simultaneously allowing you to experience God as never before. While contemplating this do not think inwardly, but allow Matthew 5:6 to captivate what it means to be blessed by hungering and thirsting for Jesus, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” (NIV) Do not move just close enough to Jesus to only allow your self-interests to consume the blessings He has for you. Allow your integrity and uprightness to consume your self-interests, while allowing God’s hope to fill your life as in Psalm 25:21, “May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in You.” (NIV) Ephesians 3:19 shows how nothing is better than being in God’s presence so that His righteousness can be your righteousness, ”To know this love surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (NIV)

Job 36:7 “He does not take His eyes off the righteous; He enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever.” (NIV)

Do you know someone who needs this message on being captivated by God?  If so, forward this devotion to them as a blessing for their growth in Christ.
